Yoga for Migraine Headaches : Yoga Hissing Breaths for Migraines


Now I’m going to demonstrate another type
of Pranayam called the Sheeth Kari Pranayam. Also known as the hissing breath Pranayam.
Hissing, because of the noise that it makes when we inhale. It is similar to the Shitali
Pranayam and is as miraculous in it’s healing powers as the Shitali. Let’s do the Sheeth
Kari Pranayam. The back should be straight, the hands as I am just demonstrating. Gently
close your eyes. The upper lip is touching my palate. Clench the teeth together and separate
the lips as much as possible. Now inhale through the teeth making a hissing sound. Close the
lips and breathe out through the nose. Inhale through the lips making a hissing sound. Exhale
through the nose. So friends, this was the Sheeth Kari Pranayam.
Also known as the hissing breath.
