Storm causes travel headaches at Logan

Storm causes travel headaches at Logan

RANDY: THE EYEOPENER’S KATIE
TOMPSON AT THE AIRPORT RIGHT
NOW WITH SERIOUS PROBLEMS FOR
PASSENGERS. KATIE: IT’S A VERY BUSY MORNING
HERE AT LOGAN. A LOT OF THESE PASSENGERS HAVE
BEEN HERE ALL NIGHT LONG. WE SAW PEOPLE THAT ARE SLEEPING
ON COTS, SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR. A LOT OF THEM GETTING IN LINE,
TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHEN THEY
CAN GET OUT OF HERE. TODAY WAS ALREADY GOING TO BE A
BUSY DAY FOR TRAVELERS. IT MARKS THE START OF WHAT THE
T.S.A. PREDICTS WILL BE A
RECORD-BREAKING STRETCH FOR AIR
TRAVEL. THEN THERE WAS THIS OVERNIGHT. THAT’S THE VIEW OUT OF AN
AMERICAN AIRLINE PLANE SHOWING
PLANES UNABLE TO GET TO GATES. WEATHER PROBLEMS AT NEW YORK
AIRPORTS CONTRIBUTED TO THE
BACKUP, LEAVING FLIGHTS STUCK O
FOR TWO HOURS. AND IT WENT BY PRETTY QUICKLY,
BUT IT, OF COURSE, IS STILL A
HASSLE WHEN YOU HAVE TO SIT ON
THE PLANE WHEN YOU’VE ALREADY
LANDED.>>EVERYBODY WAS WELL-BEHAVED. THE CREW WAS — HANDLED IT VERY
WELL.>>THERE’S A REASON WHY I LEFT
BOSTON, AND THIS IS IT. KATIE: THAT GENTLEMAN NOW LIVES
IN MIAMI, SO HE CLEARLY WAS NOT
THRILLED WITH THE CHANGE IN
WEATHER. AMERICAN AIRLINES TELLS US
OVERNIGHT THEY’RE WORKING TO GET
THINGS BACK ON TRACK, BUT THERE
IS DEFINITELY A BACKLOG AT
AIRPORTS IN THE NORTHEAST
BECAUSE OF THIS STORM. I THINK IT WAS THAT REALLY QUICK
HEAVY BURST OF SNOW THAT SNARLED
EVERYTHING UP. AND WE’RE STILL FEELING THE
EFFECTS OF THAT, ALTHOUGH I
TALKED TO SOME AIRPORT OFFICIALS
WHO SAY THINGS ARE STARTING TO
GET BACK ON TRACK. IF YOU ARE HEADED OUT TO LOGAN,
JUST BE PATIENT. MIGHT TAKE A LITTLE WHILE. BUT THEY’LL GET YOU ON YOUR WAY.
