Sciatica Leg Pain Finds Relief with Gonstead Chiropractic

(upbeat music) – And you said you can’t
go on your tiptoes? – No, I cannot. – Can you stand up for me? – Yeah
– I just wanna see. – Yes, I can’t, I cannot. So, it’s like I cannot tiptoe. (grunts) – Is it ’cause it’s weak or
is it ’cause it’s painful? – It’s weak and then a little bit painful. – Okay. – You can see this right here. – So, it’s mainly this leg. – Both leg. – Both legs.
– Yeah, I cannot tiptoe. I used to be able to. (chuckles) – Can you go on your heels? – Heel okay. – Heel is fine. – But it still feel pain. – You still feel pain. – Yeah, yeah. – So, when you feel pain is that the back of the leg or
the side of the leg? – It’s in the back.
– In the back. – Yeah.
– Okay. – I cannot tiptoe, I cannot walk. Sit down is okay, lying down is okay, but when I stand longer or I
start walking long distance and then feel pain.
– Okay. – So if I travel, it’s always hard to from terminal to terminal, it’s – It’s bad. – To catch other planes, it’s bad. All my coworkers say just walk ahead of me and I’ll try to catch up and as soon as I walk faster,
then it hurts more. – Yeah, this hurts? – Yeah.
– Okay. Does this just stay here or
does it go all the way down? – It went all the way down. – It goes all the way down? – Yeah, yeah.
– Okay. Right now it’s mainly the
pain in the right leg, right? And the low back pain? – Yes. – So where do you feel that pain? – I think the problem is
hard to tell which spot in the leg, yeah.
– Which spot? – Because I think the issue
is the bulging disc, right? So it’s kind of, the pain’s
shooting down from here. – From there (mumbles) – But it’s hard to identify which spot. It’s only when I stand up
or when I start walking and then you feel pain and also weakness. – Gotcha, okay. Now where is the bulging disc? What levels was it again? It was L… – I have bulging disc from L3, L4, and L5. – L3, 4, and 5? – Yeah. – What happened again? You were in… – I was… workout injury. – Workout injury. It usually is an injury
or a trauma that happens, – Okay, yes, yeah.
– Especially with the spine. Four, said L4, L5. L3, 4, and 5. – L3, 4, and 5. – Okay, and you’ve had this
for how long at this point? You know when the injury was? – Up now, probably about a year now. – About a year now? – Yeah, yeah.
– Okay. Is there anything else
that I need to know about? I know obviously this is
the main thing, right here, but is there anything else
that I need to know about? – Yeah, this is the main thing. Yeah, but I didn’t know my
spine tilt this way, maybe. – Oh yeah, yeah definitely. – Maybe it start last year
or I don’t know. (chuckles) – Well what your body does
when you have a bulging disc is your body tends to shift
away from the pain area, so that’s why you might be
kind of shifted in the spine. – Yeah and then according to the x-ray, Dr. Jerry also say my right
leg probably shorter than my left, so (chuckles) – Yeah, it is like that too, yeah. Okay, so you have a
reading up here as well. Okay, right there. So if I poke right there, is that painful? Tender? – A little bit, yeah. – Okay, what if I go lower? Not too bad? – Not too bad. – This spot. – That one there?
– Yeah. – Okay, got it. All right, so what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna give this
a push going that way, right over there. So right there (loud crack) Nice, good. You okay? – Yup.
– Cool. Okay, so deep breath in. All the way out. Good, one more time, breathe in. All the way out. (loud crack)
(patient grunts) There we go. That was good (mumbles) I got you, I got you, just relax. Come on over, I want
you to stand right here. – Okay. – Try going on your toes. – (grunts) Still very weak (chuckles). – Gotcha. – Cannot move up. – Okay.
– Yup. If my hands hold something I can – Yeah. – Can help lift up (mumbles) – So that just means for us, I mean that was a pretty
good set for today, we’re just gonna have
to keep working on it ’cause you’ve had this for
a year at this point, so you’re gonna need to get another one. – Make sure to come visit you first. (both laugh) – Well I mean you’re here now, so we’re gonna get you a lot better. – Yeah, it’s very hard to tiptoe. – Yeah.
– Yeah. – Okay, that’s good. Okay, so not too bad right? – Not too bad. – (laughing) Okay, good. – First time I had this crack. (chuckles) – Yeah yeah yeah. So it’s gonna take some time, but we got a pretty good set for today. Again we’re gonna keep moving forward and you should notice as we’re going slowly getting more strength (mumbles). – Okay.
– So, pretty much it. You might feel sore after, you know, over here or in here tonight, or even in the first
month, you might feel sore. It’s totally normal to feel, just put some ice on the areas if you do. And that pretty much should be it. It’s not gonna be the same
adjustment every time. It might be a different one, just depending on what
we use for the scope. I mean, what we’re finding with the scope and with everything else so, okay? So, that’s pretty much it. Stay as consistent as you can so we can get good momentum, so we can that a lot better, okay? – Okay, thanks Dr. Chan. – You’re all set? – Okay, thanks, okay. (soothing music)
