Cervical Spinal Fusion Surgery: Michele’s Rothman Story

Cervical Spinal Fusion Surgery: Michele’s Rothman Story

I grew up in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, a suburb
of Philadelphia. [Hey, how are you? Good to see you!]
[You look great] I enjoy going to the gym and working out with
my trainer. For years I had problems with my, like, pain
in my shoulder, my neck, and my arm. I had the pain every single day from the time
I woke up in the morning until the time I went to bed.
I mean, lifting up a box, like doing simple activities– putting eye drops in your eyes,
things like that–I always felt the pain. I always thought it was actually my shoulder
or a muscle problem. I never thought that it was at my actual spine. I just assumed that
it was pain that I was going to have to live with for the rest of my life.
And after going through several doctors over the course of a few years, I ended up at Rothman.
I saw a spinal surgeon. He reviewed my x-rays and my MRIs and he made the decision at that
point that I needed corrective surgery. I had multi-level cervical spinal fusion.
I had a very personable experience at Rothman. I always felt at ease with the doctors and
with the physician assistants and the people that sat up at the reception.
Now, I feel great. All my pain is completely gone and the areas where I had numbness, I
have feeling again. My upper body strength has increased. I have no problems turning
my neck. I have no problems with shoulder pain, neck pain, or arm pain.
The best experience I ever had was going to Rothman.
