The typical symptom of a heart attack
is chest pain and what you hear, what most patients say is – I’m having crushing pain in the middle of my chest. Women typically will have atypical chest
pain or atypical presentation. They might not have that crushing pain in the
middle of their chest. They might feel nauseous, they might get some twinge in their back, they might get jaw pain or neck pain and so I
think it’s important for patients and families to realize that just because
it’s not that typical substernal or chest crushing chest pain in the middle
of the chest it’s not their heart particularly in a woman.
